Welcome to the enchanting world of cyanotype printing.

My name is Michelle and I have lived in the New Forest most of my life.  Having grown up surrounded by nature, I have always had great admiration for it’s beauty and the tranquillity it allows me to feel.
I first discovered cyanotypes after seeing another artist’s work.  I was instantly captivated by the deep blue tones it created and decided to learn the techniques to make botanical prints.  Each of my prints have been made using natural botanicals collected from private gardens.  Then, with the magic of the cyanotype chemicals and natural sunlight, beautiful images have been made.

Cyanotypes are one of the earliest forms of photography and were invented in 1842 by Sir Harold Herschel after he had been experimenting with paper coated in a solution of iron salts and sun exposure.  The term ‘blueprint’ comes from the use of cyanotypes.

So, to this day, this old technique has allowed us to capture images in a very unique way.  I hope you enjoy looking through the designs I have created.
